5/13/2017 Terrain Build

 Hello All,

We had a build session yesterday

Going into the fifth Build Session of the year, we were behind schedule and I was starting to worry we wouldn’t be able to meet all our deadlines. But then a wonderfully enthusiastic crew of volunteers showed up to save the day. Fourteen people volunteered for at least part of the day and we are now slightly ahead of schedule.

The primary projects for the day were to put the final touches on the AoS line of sight (LOS) blockers, finish building the 40K LOS Blockers, and build a bunch of scatter terrain for 40K.

In Total 50 of these are ready to be painted at the next session.

We managed to get the rest of these built from last session. more than half are already based and ready for painting.

What to use...? that is the question.

Water features and Hills

Last year we made a bunch of hills from Techtonic Craft studio for Warmachine. Due to time constraints we were not able to paint them to spec at that time and it showed. this year we have set aside some time to fix a few things like this.

 Clean up.

At the end of the day we decided to give the place a good straightening up since we have been building in there for two months. We came up with a cunning plan to store more terrain using terrain material. We hung foam sheets from the rafters to make shelves.

The workshop is staged and ready for for the next build session.

I worried that the dreary weather would keep people away, but I suppose it was just damp enough to call off outdoor activities, but not so miserable that everyone wanted to stay home. Thank you, Mother Nature. Also, a big thank you to everyone who came out for donuts, pizza, pink foam, and good times. If you missed all the fun, don’t worry. The next build session is this Saturday, May 20th. All skill levels are welcomed.
