Hello All,

Yesterday I attended another Nova Build session and some serious progress was made. We got a ton of stuff pushed through the first three coats and many more were accented with reds browns and greens. We even managed to get a bunch of stuff flocked. Check out the pictures.

Not for NOVA but a kindred spirit

Hello all,

I just wanted to share an activity I was able to participate in this past weekend. This is not NOVA related but in the spirit of what the NOVA is at heart I thought it appropriate.

Last Sunday the 2013 Marine Corps Historic half was held in Fredericksburg, Virgina. I was drafted by the missis to to support the runners at mile marker 8 as part of Team Fisher House. We wore Cow hats and rang cowbells cheering the runners on. This yeas theme was "Get more cowbell" this was reference to the SNL sketch from back in 2000

By the end of 3 hours I could  hardly stand under my own power but it was an amazing experience! I intend to wear the cow had at the NOVA this year so if you see it you will know what it's about.

Pictures from race day can be found here.

Till next time,

Terrain Build 5 "Construction under way"

Hello All,

Well another build session has come and gone. We are still plugging away at the Infinity project and we made some serious progress. Two weeks ago several of our Nova artists took 6" square blocks home to create buildings and scenery prototypes for mass production back at base. The results were pretty cool.

Take a look:

The four designs up for scrutiny

RGH Style cargo containers

The most complicated but super cool concept

We started painting in spite of the rainy weather and managed to get a good amount of stuff painted.

Good for keeping heads dry!
"Like a Boss"
When the sun came out the airbrushes came out of hiding!

I don't think he is fooling anyone...

As usual Lunch was a huge success and my tummy thanks you for it! (You know who you are)
This time around something new. Chinese food! Rock on!

I barely had time to snap this shot before it was all gone.

In the end we had lots of stuff drying even after we put everything else away. We were forced to sit and "watch the paint dry"

"Isn't this ever so exciting"

Over all it was a productive day and a good time all around!

Till next time

Build session 4

Hello all,

This past Saturday we had us a build session. Thanks to Adepticon no one had a prototype for the pink foam blocks ready so we decided to work on smaller projects for our 16 Infinity tables and we even got to lay some paint on the 40K pieces we worked on before. Here are the highlights.

MORE HILLS!
I told the TO that the trees are a little out of scale with the hills
40K pieces ready for paint
"How are we gona do this?"
The first painting of 2013!
Taking a break
ready for some color
MORE BASES!
OK so one concept was actually ready and it's pretty cool.

Blue prints for buildings

Fajitas for Lunch Mmmmmm
With all the trimmings!
Over all it was a great day and many glorious pieces of terrain were built or primed.
I hope this inspires some of you out there to swing by and join us next time. Keep checking here to find out more about what we are doing next.

Till next time
